Read about Simona in the 'Ottagono' magazine Click here to view the article >> My Philosophy in art and design: Feminine and masculine, day and night, life and death – these fundamental dualities present in life are the themes that influence my research and guide the threads of my work and my thoughts.     ‘In una goccia d’acqua e’ racchiuso l’universo.’ In painting the within is without and viceversa. A drop of water holds the secret of the sea, the macrocosm is the microcosm, the structure and texture of nature reminds me of where I come from and these are the stories that I want to reveal on canvas.     In pottery the concept of a ‘family’ of items is important for me. As an artist I need to make individual objects that fit together – the idea of a ‘set’ of plates, a set of cups isn’t appealing for me, but rather families of plates, families of cups…this makes every single piece unique.
